Power Platform–Driven Downtime & OEE: Real-Time Logging and Power BI Reporting
The Challenge
Downtime was logged by hand on paper and spreadsheets - slow and error-prone - with data and communications scattered across no single system of record. OEE calculations were delayed by corrections and inconsistent inputs, supervisors had little real-time visibility, and reporting was a heavy load across lines, shifts and sites.
What We Did
We built a Power Apps solution for real-time downtime entry with a modern UI, backed by SharePoint Online as centralised, structured storage. Power Automate workflows push email notifications to stakeholders, and Power BI reports OEE across availability, performance and quality. Teams get cross-platform access on desktop, web and mobile, with user roles, permissions and approvals built in.
